Jen has worked at Denver Christian School for over 16 years as a school counselor.  Jen is a graduate of Denver Christian School and parent of a current student.  Denver Christian is a family and community for her family and herself as she serves the staff and students.

Jen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Youth Ministries and a Master’s Degree in Counseling both from Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado. She completed additional counseling courses through Colorado Christian University, University of Colorado at Denver and UCLA. Jen is a licensed professional counselor in the State of Colorado since November 2004. She has also been trained as a Prepare/Enrich facilitator and is trained in Animal Assisted Therapy.

Jen's work at the school includes meeting with individual students, leading groups, presenting in the classroom, assisting with college/career planning, and collaborating with parents and school staff. While at Denver Christian School, she is the supervisor of our graduate-level counseling interns from Denver Seminary, Colorado Christian University and the University of Phoenix.

Jen's approach to working with students, families and staff is to have a caring relationship providing guidance and education. Her counseling is based upon walking alongside the students to help empower them to make changes and reach goals in their lives. Jen believes in helping individuals grow from the inside out as they embrace the journey God has for them. In her free time, she likes to read, run, travel and spend time with family and friends.

Meet Sophie, Ms. Jackson's partner in therapy:

I am a Black Lab and enjoy living in a family that includes two other dog friends whom I love to play with. I also love going for walks and playing at the dog park. I play catch and even sometimes chase my tail. I am two years old and have been living with my family since the summer of 2014. I completed three levels of obedience training and passed the Canine Good Citizenship test. My mom, Jen, has been trained to use me as an Animal Assisted Therapy Dog with the Professional Therapy Dogs of Colorado. This means I get to go to work with her and help love people. Being with people is my favorite thing to do except when I get treats! I especially love kids and enjoy being petted.
